I am not aware of anyone who repairs this but I am guessing there is going to be a demand for TP repair as this and other issues start cropping up. There should be a Function (Fn) key and F5 or something to allow you to disable it. There's quite a difference between a cheap $3 mouse pad and a gaming one IMO. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5190402?start=0&tstart=0 I then bent two thin copper wires about 3/4" in length into a u shape and pushed one into the last two connector openings on each side connecting both red wires

Do you have any devices plugged into the USB ports? I would be very concerned about the brand new TouchPads sitting in sealed boxes for long stretches of time like the ones being held on to just in case of breakage, Mine was on the touchstone when it had this problem and a few others have reported the same. But it took the deletion of the mouse drivers, an update of the BIOS and a reinstallation of the mouse drivers to achieve this!

I've seen some mention of using a gel glue stick on the internet but haven't found any more information by googling (and I want some first hand knowledge if possible!) This saved me: 2nd thing to try is to hold down the up-volume button and the power button at the same time. The trackpad is sensing movement. It had happened once before and I woke up to the dead battery icon and an overnight charge fixed it.

Nook Color, good; POS Phone, good (dang it!); TouchPad #1, good; TouchPad #2... So the question of the day is, has anyone used a repair service that they are happy with and who are they? It works, woo hoo BlakeK80, Apr 7, 2014 bomblord likes this.

however, i do feel that there should always be a button to enable or disable it.

All submitted content is subject to our Terms of Use. If I push the trackpad up with the set screw, then the button stays clicked. I am guessing this was stuck in a software loop and didn't shut down allowing the battery to get this low. 2.8 volts is below the critical low voltage battery on My Touchpad had an issue with the Touchstone where the Touchpad would just keep saying "Charging" over and over.

Can you work your way into Winodws System Restore and restore your system to a time when the touchpad functioned? At this point I am guessing that the battery does not have enough juice to power the charging circuitry in the TouchPad so it will not charge. Is it just worn out, or did I clean something off that was needed? Boy that was a long way to say I put some charge on the battery of my dead touchpad and brought it back to life. I've read that if the voltage is too low you can charge it in NIMH mode until it reaches 3 volts... The tracking speed was slowing down, it took a huge effort to click on anything, and even more to double-click.

Just what is mynewpalm.com? Unfortunately, HP does not have a clue and I have to find someone to send this to for repair. Also, I have performed full system scans and not found any viruses present.Any help is appreciated, thanks! Next question is; how to get a baseline charge in the battery w/o a special charger. :-) -- Sent from my TouchPad using Communities Reply W00sh likes this.

When I placed them on a flat surface, a small area was visibly unleveled between the mounting holes.
