Is The Antec 900 Quiet?
Sometimes you can get away with equal or better performance at a lower dB level, but those are often more expensive fans (ie noctua). I still wouldn't buy from Tiger if you need them soon, at that price point you can get Noisblockers or San Aces which are superior to Noctua's. rubber mounts help keep reverberation at bay http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=57&subcat=795 C64 View Public Profile Find More Posts by C64 7th Jan 2008, 21:38 #7 smsmasters Mobster Joined: Aug 2004 My old antec/cheiftec case is just wasting space..
The only way you are going to make the 900 much quieter is to replace all the fans with ones that run at 1000rpm or below. Your advice please... Meh... Advertisements do not imply our endorsement of that product or service.
I was looking to replace the 2x front intake fans and rear exhaust fan (all of them stock antec tricools) with Noctua NF-P12 fans. When running desktop apps my rig is inaudible even though it's an open-mesh case sitting on top of my desk. It was usually the cpu heatsink fan that was the loudest but I used speedfan to control that. But having just said that, I just check NCIX stock and it seems they're almost out of stock ><. to that end you want unrestricted airflow paths, good cabling, etc. I wouldn't worry about a fancy fan controller. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2847183/make-antec-900-case-quieter.html They're standard 3-pin fans.
Guess ill be going sticking with all fans on low for now, will tackle noise problems when i get can afford a new case, probably a Cosmos s. IMO, a major part of a quiet case is quiet components to begin with. #6 BoomerD, May 7, 2011 Arg Clin Senior member Joined: Oct 24, 2010 Messages: 411 Likes Buy some Yate Loon quite fans? The Akasa fans are only £6; that would be my choice as the best compromise.

There are so many new designs out there that are miles ahead of that design. #18 raasco, May 8, 2011 DesiPower Lifer Joined: Nov 22, 2008 Messages: 14,773 Likes Received: or heck, maybe i'll just replace ALL of it. -__-- Jul 3, 2010 #6 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) Do you have a SSD or several hard drives? Already have an account? I think it comes down to what someone personally thinks is "silent." Ask any of the fanatics enthusiasts at Silent PC Review about the Antec 900 and they'll probably laugh at The bright led's coupled with the cramped interior made me decide to upgrade to the Corsair 600T.
That way you can rule out graphics card fans, cpu cooler fans etc. I might do it down the line. Good to know. Can't find your answer ?
My temps are about 60C/35C for the GPUs, 40C for the CPU when at the desktop. Would replacing the 3 120MM fans with those make a considerable difference? Don't trust the numbers.
They also have speed switches to turn them higher or lower, have you already tried turning them down?
Passive PSU, Passive heat sinks, with SSD's to kill all your vibration causing instruments. there is 1200, that think is tall as hell and has 6 fans! I could not have expected more considering all the heat my system pumps out. #15 SickBeast, May 7, 2011 deimos3428 Senior member Joined: Mar 6, 2009 Messages: 699 Likes Received: I would love to put a footre..
