November 14, 2009 AmishCake I was having all the same troubles getting my XP machines connected to my new Windows 7 machine. The XP computer's internet problem is not related the above. I went through the above instructions and solved my problem withing a few mintues!! Thanks. Makes it rough when the kids find something they want/need to print for school and have to go and change computers.

By only disabling password protection on the win 7 machine, I could see the win 7shares from all xp machines.
